BEETHOVEN AT 250
TUESDAY 3 NOVEMBER
The Art Society Mallorca, collaborators of the 1830 Academy, organizes a lecture on BEEHTOVEN 250th anniversary.
Sandy BURNETT is one of the UK’s most prestigious music commentators and enjoys a career that combines broadcasting, acting and lecturing. Sandy guides us through the life and work of this brilliant, visionary, and surprisingly original composer, a man who ripped out the book of rules of classical music. The visual illustrations include a selection of contemporary portraits, while musical examples are drawn from his piano sonatas, quartets and symphonies bursting into genres, and from the revolutionary opera Fidelio. Here we are talking about much more than just a musician: Beethoven was a true romantic artist or, as he preferred to describe himself, a “poet with sound”.
The lecture will be in streaming next Tuesday, November 3th at 7.30 pm on the Zoom platform.
